  1. 34:5The ancient Jewish burial custom was to bury the dead, and then, about a year or so later, to dig up the bones of the dead and keep them in an ossuary (a bone box). Since this verse says that the bones of these priests were burned (not their dead bodies), this apparently refers to the bones of long deceased priests, those who had served these idols.(Conte)
