God’s spiritual benefits to faithful souls.

A Psalm of David. The Lord directs me,1 and nothing will be lacking to me.2
  1. 22:1Directs me: In Hebrew, Is my shepherd, viz., to feed, guide, and govern me.(Challoner)
  2. 22:1The often quoted phrasing: “The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want.” cannot be arrived at from the Latin. There is no mention of shepherd, but of the Lord guiding or directing. And the term ‘want’ is in the sense of ‘I shall not lack,’ not in the sense of ‘I shall not desire anything.’(Conte)
