ἅλωσις, (εως, ἡ (ἁλόω, ἁλίσκομαι, to be caught), a catching, capture: 2Pe 2:12 εἰς ἅλωσιν to be taken, (some would here take the word actively: to take). (From Pindar and Herodotus down.)
