ἐγκάθετος (T WH ἐνκαθετος, see ἐν, III. 3), ἐγκαθετου ὁ ἡ (ἐγκαθίημι (to send down in (secretly))), suborned to lie in wait; a lier-in-wait, a spy, (cf.
