Jachin

A man of the tribe of Simeon living at the time of Egypt and Wilderness, first mentioned at Gen.46.10; son of: Simeon (H8095); brother of: Jemuel (H3223), Jamin (H3226), Ohad (H0161), Zerah (H2226L) and Shaul (H7586H); also called Jarib at 1Ch.4.24; § Jachin = "He will establish" the 4th son of Simeon and founder of the family of Jachinites

1. a Simeonite Gen 46:10 = Exod 6:15; Num 26:12, ᵐ5 Ιαχειμ(ν).

2. name of right-hand pillar before temple 1Kgs 7:21 = 2Chr 3:17, ᵐ5 Ιαχουμ (opposed to בֹּעַז, q. v. f. above; see also RS^{Semitic i, 191} (208)).

יָרִיב proper name, masculine (he contendeth or taketh (our) part, conducteth (our) case; compare Sabean ירב Hal⁶¹⁵); —
