¶Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.
And Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus, and said, Ye men of Athens, in all things I perceive that ye are very religious.

Then Paul stood up in the meeting1 of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I see that in every way you are very religious.

Paul Speaks to the Areopagus
So Paul stood there in the middle of the Areopagus and1 said, “Men of Athens, I see you are very religious ⌞in every respect⌟.2
- *Here “and” is supplied because the previous participle (“stood there”) has been translated as a finite verb
