ματαιότης, ματαιότητος, ἡ (μάταιος, which see), a purely Biblical and ecclesiastical word ((Pollux 50:6 c. 32 § 134)); the Sept. for הֶבֶל (often in Ecclesiastes), also for שָׁוְא, etc.; vanity;
