יָשָׁן adjective old (originally, as it seems, withered, flabby , like a lifeless plant with top hanging down, as if in sleep; compare Niph`al above, and Late Hebrew יָשַׁן Pi`ellet a thing grow old ) — יָשָׁן Lev 25:22 + 3 t.; feminine יָשָׁנָה Isa 22:11 + 2 t.; plural יְשָׁנִים Song 7:14 — old: הַבְּרֵכָה הַיְשָׁנָה Isa 22:11 שַׁעַר הַיְשָׁנָה Neh 3:6 so Neh 12:39 of choice fruits, Song 7:14 (opposed to חדשׁ); substantive old harvest, store, Lev 25:22 (twice in verse); Lev 26:12 (twice in verse) (H; opposed to חדשׁ).
