I. שְׁפַתָּ֑יִם noun [masculine] dual: probably = מִשְׁפְּתַיִם, below, q. v.; — ׳בֵּין שׁ Ps 68:14 (based on Judg 5:16 ?).

מִשְׁפְּתַ֫יִם noun [masculine] dual probably fire-places or ash-heaps (namely, of the villages or encampments of the tribe) (> Ki Thes and most sheepfolds, see Stu^Ju); — בֵּין הַמִּשְׁפְּתַ֫יִם Judg 5:16 (poem; compare GFM); so (תָּ֑יִם-) Gen 49:14 (poem in J).

II. שְׁפַתַּ֫יִם noun [masculine] dual doubtful word: usually hook-shaped pegs, hooks, so ᵑ7 Thes AV RV; absolute ׳וְהַשּׁ Ezek 40:43 < ᵑ6 ᵑ9 Co וּשְׂפָתָם and their edge, so Aq Theod Symm and probably ᵐ5, compare Hi-Sm, and Krae (וּשְׂפַת). — 1. ׳שׁ see √שׁפה.
