I. [עָצָה] verb shut (Arabic ( and ) IV. shut eyes; Ethiopic : shut door); —

Qal Participle active עֹצֶה עֵינָיו Prov 16:30 he that shuts his eyes (SS compare עצּם [Isa 29:10], which Gr reads).

II. [עָצַם] verb shut the eyes (Late Hebrew Hiph`il; possibly connection with Syriac = id., Arabic , IV (on = see NöZMG xxxii (1878), 406); Late Hebrew עִמֵּץ close eyes of dead; compare BaES 5f.); —

Qal Participle וְעֹצֵם עֵינָיו מִן Isa 33:15 shutteth his eyes from seeing Pi`el Imperfect 3 masculine singular וַיְעַצֵּם אֶתעֵֿינֵיכֶם Isa 29:10 he hath tightly shut your eyes (compare I. עצה).
