El jurar por Milcom es síntoma de la diabólica mezcla del culto de Dios con la adoración de los ídolos, que es lo que a Él indigna más que nada.   1. 8. Se visten como extranjeros: Evidente indicio de que también su corazón se ha alejado de la religión de los padres (cf. Isaías 2, 6 ss. y nota). El mayor desprecio a Dios, que eligió a Israel y la llenó de privilegios, era envidiar a los paganos. De ahí vino siempre la corrupción, la idolatría y la degeneración de Israel, y hasta el rey Salomón cayó por causa de las mujeres extranjeras. En la moda se manifiesta el espíritu, como lo vemos palpablemente en la de hoy. Véase Ezequiel 13, 18 s. y nota. En sentido espiritual el vestido extraño es la hipocresía.
