ἐλαύνω; perfect participle ἐληλακως; passive (present ἐλαύνομαι); imperfect ἠλαυνομην; to drive: of the wind driving ships or clouds, Jas 3:4; 2Pe 2:17; of sailors propelling a vessel by oars, to row, Mar 6:48; to be carried in a ship, to sail, Joh 6:19 (often so in Greek writings from Homer down; often also with νῆα or ναῦν added); of demons driving to some place the men whom they possess, Luk 8:29.
