λανθάνω (lengthened form of λήθω); 2 aorist ἔλαθόν, (whence Latinlatere); the Sept. several times for נֶעְלַם, etc.; (from Homer down); to be hidden: Mar 7:24; Luk 8:47; τινα, to be hidden from one, Act 26:26; 2Pe 3:5 (on which see θέλω, 1 under the end), 8; accusative to the well-known classic usage, joined in a finite form to a participle equivalent to secretly, unawares, without knowing (cf.
