חָמֵץ noun masculine^{Exod 13:3} that which is leavened — ֯׳ח Exod 12:15 + 10 t. — forbidden at Passover Exod 12:15 (P), Exod 13:3; Exod 13:7 (JE), Deut 16:3, in all sacrifices Exod 23:18; Exod 34:25 (both J E); compare Amos 4:5; Lev 2:11; Lev 6:10 (P; apposition); exceptions are ׳לֶחֶם ח of peace-offering Lev 7:13 (P), and the wave-loaves (׳ח appositive) Lev 23:17 (H). — see RS^{Sem 208 OTJC 2, 345}.

מַחְמֶ֫צֶת noun feminine anything leavened, only Exod 12:19; Exod 12:20 (P).
