Ἰακώβ, ὁ (יַעֲקֹב (i. e. heel-catcher, supplanter)), Jacob;

1. the second of Isaac's sons: Mat 1:2; Mat 8:11; Joh 4:5; Act 7:8; Rom 9:13, etc. Hebraistically equivalent to the descendants of Jacob: Rom 11:26 (Num 23:7; Isa 41:8; Jer. (Hebrew text); Sir 23:12; 1Ma 3:7, and often).
