πληγή, πληγῆς, ἡ (πλήσσω), from Homer down; the Sept. chiefly for מַכָּה, also for מַגֵּפָה;

1. a blow, stripe: plural, Luk 10:30; Luke 10:43; Act 16:23; Act 16:33; 2Co 6:5; 2Co 11:23; a wound: ἡ πληγή τοῦ θανάτου, deadly wound (R.
