οἶνος, οἴνου, ὁ (from Homer down), the Sept. for יַיִן, also for תִּירושׁ (must, new wine), חֶמֶר, etc.; wine;

a. properly: Mat 9:17; (xxvii. 34 L text T Tr WH); Mar 15:23; Luk 1:15; Joh 2:3; Rom 14:21; Eph 5:18; 1Ti 5:23; Rev 17:2, etc.; οἴνῳ προσέχειν, 1Ti 3:8; δουλεύειν, Tit 2:3.
