Para aprender, etc. Notemos la audacia de este título. ¿Qué autor se atrevió jamás a pretender que él iba a enseñar a todos la sabiduría? Es este un sello de la suprema autoridad divina; así enseñaba Jesús, dice el Evangelio: con autoridad propia, y no a la manera de los otros maestros (Marcos 1, 22, etc.). Sabiduría significa más que prudencia y ciencia; consiste en el conocimiento de Dios y una vida conforme a su voluntad. Véase Introducción y la estupenda definición del Espíritu de Sabiduría en Sabiduría 7, 22 s. Por lo demás, para la inteligencia espiritual de todos los textos en que habla la Sabiduría (p. ej. 9, 3 ss.) debemos tener presente que esa Sabiduría personificada es la Palabra (Verbo, Logos), que se hizo Redentor nuestro. Tales enseñanzas adquieren así todo su valor, incomparablemente sublime y deleitoso, para el que conoce el Nuevo Testamento. Cf. Salmo 118, 89 y nota.

Se revelan aquí las raíces de la sabiduría, que solamente tiene valor y eficacia cuando se inspira en el temor del Señor. La voz hebrea yirah, que se ha traducido por temor, no significa el sentimiento egoísta del miedo, según se ve en 29, 19 sino la suma reverencia, que teme desagradar a Dios. “No es un terror, sino un conocimiento; no se forma en los bajos temblores y miedos de la naturaleza, sino en el alma que la ley divina inunda de luz, transformándola en amor, en obras de vida pura, y en hambre de la verdad divina (San Hilario).

Las malas compañías

Dante, Purgatorio 31, 62). Creemos que significa más bien: Si tú tienes las alas de la sabiduría, que te estoy dando con mis palabras, escaparás a ese lazo de los malvados.
