Es decir: “No debemos oír una sola campana.” La Vulgata vierte: El justo es el primer acusador de sí mismo; viene su amigo y lo sondeará. Según esto, se refiere a la humildad. El humilde se considera como el más indigno de todos, aunque viva más rectamente que los otros. El hombre verdaderamente humilde ignora su grandeza; y precisamente por ello Dios le ensalzará, y serán los últimos los primeros (Mateo 19, 30).
