  1. 1. Siete mujeres echarán mano de un solo hombre, para que las tome por esposas. Expresión de espantosa desolación a causa de las guerras que privarán a esas mujeres lujuriosas (cf. 3, 18) de maridos. De este modo quedarán sin hijos y sin herederos de sus bienes. Era esto el oprobio más grande para la mujer hebrea. Los hechos demuestran que Dios ha reservado el mismo castigo para las mujeres cómodas de hoy.

2 1En aquel día el Pimpollo de Yahvé será la magnificencia y gloria, el fruto de la tierra, la grandeza y el orgullo de los de Israel que se salvaren.

En el Pimpollo y el fruto de la tierra no solo ha de reconocerse el resto del pueblo judío que sobrevivirá a la ruina, sino con los Santos Padres, el Mesías, llamado con nombres semejantes en varias profecías (Isaías 11, 1 y 10; 53, 2; Jeremías 23, 5; 33, 15; Zacarías 3, 8; 6, 12).
