Prologue
1 What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and our hands have touched, concerning the word of life—

5 And this is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light and there is no darkness in him at all.

εἴπωμενeipōmenwe shall sayG2036V-2AAS-1P κοινωνίανkoinōnianfellowshipG2842N-ASF ἔχομενechomenwe haveG2192V-PAI-1P σκότειskoteidarknessG4655N-DSN περιπατῶμεν,peripatōmenmay walk,G4043V-PAS-1P ψευδόμεθαpseudomethawe lieG5574V-PNI-1P ποιοῦμενpoioumenwe do practiceG4160GV-PAI-1P ἀλήθειαν·alētheiantruth;G0225N-ASF - Or “we are lying and are not practicing the truth”
7 But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
