Es sind außer Ps. 106 noch die Psalmen 111-113 117 135 146-150. — Mit Ps 106:47-48 vgl. 1Ch 16:34-36 und den zweiten Teil der Anm. zu Ps 96:1, Psalm 106 beschäftigt sich ebenso wie die Psalmen 78 und 105 mit der Geschichte der israelitischen Vorzeit. Aber dabei besteht zwischen den drei Psalmen ein Unterschied: in Ps. 78 herrscht dabei die Belehrung vor, in Ps. 105 die Danksagung und in Ps. 106 die Bußgesinnung. Ps. 106 ist ein gottesdienstliches Bußgebet, das vielleicht noch in der babylonischen Gefangenschaft entstanden ist.
