- Asaf schließt den Psalm mit der Zeit Davids (V70-72); aber er dichtete ihn wahrscheinlich erst unter Salomo, weil er in V69 den erst von diesem König erbauten Tempel erwähnt. Der Psalm warnt ernstlich, durch einen Rückblick auf die Geschichte Israels, vor der Eifersucht Efraims oder der nördlichen Stämme auf Juda. Wie wichtig diese Warnung war, das zeigte sich sofort nach Salomos Tod. Da trat der alte Gegensatz zwischen Efraim und Juda durch den Abfall der zehn Stämme vom Hause Davids furchtbar zutage.

- Zoan, von den Griechen Tanis genannt, war die alte Residenz der ägyptischen Könige. Dort tat Mose seine Wunder vor Pharao.
13 Er teilte das Meer und führte sie durch / Und türmte die Wasser wie einen Damm.1
