III. INTERVENCIÓN DE DIOS
Primer discurso de Dios
1 1Entonces Yahvé respondió a Job desde el torbellino, y dijo:

Este capítulo parece confirmar la doctrina de Eliú, aunque no en cuanto prejuzga sobre la conciencia de Job. Dios mismo, el Eterno Padre, viene a terminar y decidir la contienda, hablando majestuoso desde la tempestad, como antes a Moisés en Éxodo 3, 2. (Nótese el contraste con la suave forma de brisa en que se apareció a Elías para calmar su vehemencia, en III Reyes 19, 9-12.) El Todopoderoso pinta en colores magníficos los milagros de la creación y lo inescrutable de sus designios. Al justo no quiere atormentarlo, sino acrisolarlo poniendo a prueba su virtud. He aquí la inteligencia final de este sublime libro que nos ha dado tanta doctrina espiritual. La sabiduría consiste en pensar bien de Dios (Sabiduría 1, 1), y dar crédito a su bondad y su justicia, sin pretender explicarnos, como Job, designios que sobrepasan infinitamente a nuestra nada, como lo muestra aquí, en su ironía paternalmente socarrona, el divino discurso. Queda así burlada y condenada toda construcción del espíritu humano acerca de estos misterios, que no se funde en los datos de la revelación, más allá de los cuales en vano pretenderemos penetrar por la investigación filosófica (I Corintios 2, 5; Colosenses 2, 2-4, 7-8) los atributos ni los designios de Dios (I Juan 4, 16; Romanos 5, 5; I Corintios 2, 10 ss.), cuyos pensamientos, según nos revela Isaías (5, 8 ss.), distan de los nuestros cuanto el cielo de la tierra.
