Chapter 2
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our being assembled together unto him,

κατέχονkatechonis restrainingG2722V-PAP-ASN οἴδατεoidateyou knowG6063V-RAI-2P ἀποκαλυφθῆναιapokaluphthēnaito be revealedG0601V-APN ἑαυτοῦhe'autouhis ownG1438F-3GSM καιρῷ.kairōtime.G2540N-DSM 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already working; only there is one who now restraineth, until he be taken out of the way;
μυστήριονmustērionmysteryG3466N-NSN ἐνεργεῖταιenergeitaiis workingG1754V-PMI-3S ἀνομίας,anomiasof lawlessness,G0458N-GSF μόνονmonononly [there is]G3441A-ASN κατέχωνkatechōnrestraining [it]G2722V-PAP-NSM ἄρτιartiat presentG0737ADV μέσουmesou[the] midstG3319A-GSN γένηται·genētaihe may be [gone];G1096V-2ADS-3S 8 and then will the lawless one be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will consume with the breath of his mouth, and destroy with the manifestation of his coming;
ἀποκαλυφθήσεταιapokaluphthēsetaiwill be revealedG0601V-FPI-3S ἄνομοςanomoslawless [one]G0459A-NSM ἸησοῦςIēsousJesusG2424GN-NSM-P ἀνελεῖaneleiwill executeG0337V-2FAI-3S πνεύματιpneumatibreathG4151HN-DSN στόματοςstomatosmouthG4750N-GSN αὐτοῦautouof HimG0846P-GSM καταργήσειkatargēseiwill annulG2673V-FAI-3S ἐπιφανείᾳepiphaneiaappearingG2015N-DSF παρουσίαςparousiascomingG3952N-GSF αὐτοῦ·autouof Him;G0846P-GSM 9 [he,] whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power, and signs, and wonders of falsehood,
ἐστινestinisG1510V-PAI-3S παρουσίαparousiacomingG3952N-NSF κατ᾽kat᾽according toG2596PREP ἐνέργειανenergeian[the] workingG1753N-ASF σατανᾶsatanaof SatanG4567N-GSM-T δυνάμειdunameipowerG1411N-DSF σημείοιςsēmeioisin signsG4592N-DPN τέρασινterasinin wondersG5059N-DPN ψεύδουςpseudousof falsehoodG5579N-GSN 10 and in all deceit of unrighteousness for those who are perishing; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
