Chapter 8
1 Now as concerning things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but charity edifies.

ἀγαπᾷagapalovesG0025V-PAI-3S θεόν,theonGod,G2316N-ASM-T ἔγνωσταιegnōstaihas knownG1097V-RPI-3S αὐτοῦ.¶autouHim.G0846P-GSM 4 As concerning, therefore, the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol [is] nothing in the world, and that [there is] no other God but one.

πᾶσινpasinall [is]G3956A-DPM γνῶσις·gnōsisknowledge;G1108N-NSF συνηθείᾳsunētheiaby customG4914N-DSF εἰδώλουeidōlouidolG1497N-GSN εἰδωλόθυτονeidōlothutonan idol-sacrificeG1494A-ASN ἐσθίουσιν,esthiousineat,G2068V-PAI-3P συνείδησιςsuneidēsisconscienceG4893N-NSF αὐτῶνautōnof themG0846P-GPM ἀσθενὴςasthenēsweakG0772GA-NSF οὖσαousabeingG1510V-PAP-NSF μολύνεται.molunetaiit is defiled.G3435V-PPI-3S 8 But food does not make us more acceptable unto God; for neither if we eat are we the better, neither if we eat not are we the worse.
παραστήσειparastēseiwill commendG3936V-FAI-3S θεῷ·theōto God;G2316N-DSM-T οὔτεouteneitherG3777CONJ-N φάγωμενphagōmenwe shall eatG5315V-AAS-1P ὑστερούμεθα,husteroumetha[still] do we come shortG5302V-PPI-1P οὔτεoute[then] norG3777CONJ-N φάγωμενphagōmenwe shall eatG5315V-AAS-1P περισσεύομεν.¶perisseuomenhave we an advantage.G4052V-PAI-1P 9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours becomes a stumblingblock to those that are weak.
