Chapter 3
1 In those days came John the Immerser, preaching in the wilderness of Judea,

λέγων·legōnsaying;G3004GV-PAP-NSM μετανοεῖτε·metanoeitedo repent;G3340V-PAM-2P ἤγγικενēngikenhas drawn nearG1448V-RAI-3S βασιλείαbasileiakingdomG0932N-NSF οὐρανῶν.ouranōnheavens.G3772N-GPM 3 For this is he that was spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying: The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

ποιήσατεpoiēsatedo produceG4160GV-AAM-2P καρπὸνkarponfruitG2590N-ASM ἄξιονaxionworthyG0514A-ASM μετανοίας.metanoiasof repentance.G3341N-GSF 9 and think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham for our father; for I say to you that God is able from these stones to raise up children to Abraham.

He will immerse you in the Holy Spirit and in fire:

Then he permitted him.
