Chapter 3
1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea,

λέγων·legōnsaying;G3004GV-PAP-NSM μετανοεῖτε·metanoeitedo repent;G3340V-PAM-2P ἤγγικενēngikenhas drawn nearG1448V-RAI-3S βασιλείαbasileiakingdomG0932N-NSF οὐρανῶν.ouranōnheavens.G3772N-GPM 3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

ποιήσατεpoiēsatedo produceG4160GV-AAM-2P καρπὸνkarponfruitG2590N-ASM ἄξιονaxionworthyG0514A-ASM μετανοίας.metanoiasof repentance.G3341N-GSF 9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham for [our] father: for I say to you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children to Abraham.

Then he suffered him.
