Chapter 3
1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or do we need, as some, commendatory letters to you, or [commendatory] from you?

4 And such confidence have we through the Christ towards1 God:

5 not that we are competent of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves, but our competency [is] of1 God;

6 who has also made us competent, [as] ministers of [the] new covenant; not of letter, but of spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit quickens.

οὐχὶouchisurelyG3780PRT-N διακονίαdiakoniaministryG1248N-NSF πνεύματοςpneumatosSpiritG4151GN-GSN ἔσταιestaiwill beG1510V-FDI-3S δόξῃ;doxēglory?G1391N-DSF 9 For if the ministry of condemnation [be] glory, much rather the ministry of righteousness abounds in glory.
διακονίᾳdiakoniaministryG1248N-DSF κατακρίσεωςkatakriseōsof condemnation [was]G2633N-GSF δόξα,doxaglory,G1391N-NSF περισσεύειperisseueiaboundsG4052V-PAI-3S διακονίαdiakoniaministryG1248N-NSF δικαιοσύνηςdikaiosunēsof righteousnessG1343N-GSF δόξῃ.doxēglory!G1391N-DSF 10 For also that [which was] glorified is not glorified in this respect, on account of the surpassing glory.
δεδόξασταιdedoxastaihas been glorifiedG1392V-RPI-3S δεδοξασμένονdedoxasmenonglorifiedG1392V-RPP-NSN μέρειmereirespectG3313N-DSN εἵνεκενeinekenon account ofG1752PREP ὑπερβαλλούσηςhuperballousēssurpassing [it]G5235V-PAP-GSF δόξης.doxēsglory.G1391N-GSF 11 For if that annulled [was introduced] with glory, much rather that which abides [subsists] in glory.
καταργούμενονkatargoumenonis fading awayG2673V-PPP-NSN διὰdia[was] throughG1223PREP δόξης,doxēsglory,G1391N-GSF μᾶλλονmallonmore [is]G3123GADV μένονmenonremainingG3306V-PAP-NSN δόξῃ.¶doxēglory!G1391N-DSF 12 Having therefore such hope, we use much boldness:

ἐπιστρέψῃepistrepsē[one] shall have turnedG1994V-AAS-3S κύριον,kurion[the] Lord,G2962GN-ASM-T περιαιρεῖταιperiaireitaiis taken awayG4014V-PPI-3S κάλυμμα.kalummaveil.G2571N-NSN 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, but where the Spirit of [the] Lord [is, there is] liberty.
ἐστιν·estinis;G1510V-PAI-3S κυρίουkuriouof [the] Lord [is]G2962GN-GSM-T ἐλευθερία.eleutheria[is] freedom.G1657N-NSF 18 But we all, looking on the glory of the Lord, with unveiled face, are transformed according to the same image from glory to glory, even as by [the] Lord [the] Spirit.
