Chapter 12
1 King Herod persecutes the Christians, kills James, and imprisons Peter; whom an angel delivers upon the prayers of the Church. 20 In his pride taking to himself the honor due to God, he is stricken by an Angel, and dies miserably. 24 After his death, the word of God prospers.
1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

(Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

And his chains fell off from his hands.

But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.
