No por ser aquel judío, y este, griego o gentil, ha de recibir honor aquel y este castigo; sino que el honor y el galardón será de todo aquel que obra bien (v. 10). Nótese la delicadeza del Apóstol para con los judíos. No les dice crudamente: el gentil es igual al judío; usa más bien un método indirecto para convencerlos sin provocar su indignación (cf. Hch. 22, 22 y nota). Por eso añade que los que sin Ley pecaron, sin Ley perecerán, y cuantos con Ley pecaron, por la Ley serán juzgados (v. 12). De esta manera muestra que el judío, por tener la Ley, está más gravado que el gentil que no tiene Ley. A los judíos les parecía muy extraño que un hombre que no conocía la Ley, hubiese de recibir honor por sus obras, porque en su altivez y orgullo se creían muy superiores a los paganos. San Pablo no niega esa superioridad inicial, pero agrega que el conocimiento de la Ley encierra más responsabilidad porque el que fue objeto de mayores cuidados por parte de Dios, tanto mayores penas sufrirá. Más adelante explayará el Apóstol a los Efesios el misterio del Cuerpo místico en el cual los gentiles son llamados al par que Israel y ya no hay judío ni griego.
