Chapter 2
1 For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance to you, that it was not in vain:

παράκλησιςparaklēsisthe exhortationG3874N-NSF πλάνηςplanēserrorG4106N-GSF ἀκαθαρσίαςakatharsiasimpurityG0167N-GSF δόλῳ·dolōtrickery;G1388N-DSM 4 But as we were allowed by God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, who trieth our hearts.

7 But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:

16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?1

20 For ye are our glory and joy.
