  1. 1 ss. Es este Salmo “el himno triunfal de la confianza en Dios” (Vaccari). Su tema es la protección que Dios otorga a los que tienen puesta en Él su esperanza (véase Salmo 32, 22). La Iglesia lo pone en las Completas del Domingo. El Salterio Romano usa, como Vaccari, el vocativo: Tú, que te abrigas, en concordancia con el versículo 3. Muchos otros (Rembold, Calès, Crampón, Ubach, etc.) mantienen como LXX y Vulgata la tercera persona: El que se acoge... descansará. En realidad el hebreo no tiene ni una ni otra forma sino que empieza refiriéndose (como si fuese un título) al que se aloja en lo secreto del Altísimo como para pasar la noche en la tienda del Omnipotente (Schaddai, como en Salmo 67, 15), y luego sigue en primera persona: Digo a Yahvé, etc. De ahí que algunos propongan para todo la primera persona: Habitando… digo, etc.

  1. 14. Toma la palabra el mismo Dios para confirmar, como en el versículo 9, que la confianza en Él (y su conocimiento, del cual proviene esa confianza) es lo que nos asegura estos privilegios (cf. Salmos 9, 11; 35, 11; 32, 22). Notemos que conocer a Dios es conocer sus pensamientos, no solo su existencia. Para lo primero Él nos da su Palabra, donde nos muestra su corazón, su Espíritu, su voluntad, su amor, sus hechos, sus promesas (cf. Salmo 91, 6 y nota). Para lo segundo basta la naturaleza.
