1 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

You, then, what do you say?

But bending down, Jesus wrote on the ground with His finger, not appearing to hear.

Did not one give judgment against you?

And Jesus said to her, Neither do I give judgment. Go, and sin no more.

He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

For I know from where I came, and where I go. But you do not know from where I came, and where I go.

Jesus said to them, You neither know Me nor My Father. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also.

And no man laid hands upon Him, for His hour had not yet come.

Where I go, you cannot come.

You are of this world; I am not of this world.

And Jesus said to them, Even the same which I also say to you.

ἔγνωσανegnōsanthey understoodG1097V-2AAI-3P τὸνton[about] theG3588T-ASM πατέραpateraFatherG3962N-ASM-T αὐτοῖςautoisto themG0846P-DPM ἔλεγεν.elegenHe was speaking.G3004GV-IAI-3S 28 Then Jesus said to them, When you have lifted up the Son of man, then you shall know that I AM, and that I do nothing of Myself, but as My Father has taught Me, I speak these things.

The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things which please Him.

γνώσεσθεgnōsestheyou will knowG1097V-FDI-2P ἀλήθειαν,alētheiantruth,G0225N-ASF ἀλήθειαalētheiatruthG0225N-NSF ἐλευθερώσειeleutherōseiwill set freeG1659V-FAI-3S ὑμᾶς.¶humasyou.G4771P-2AP 33 They answered Him, We are Abraham's seed and were never in bondage to anyone. How do you say, You will be made free?

δοῦλοςdoulosthe slaveG1401N-NSM μένειmeneiabidesG3306V-PAI-3S μένειmeneiabidesG3306V-PAI-3S 36 Therefore if the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.
ἐλευθερώσῃ,eleutherōsēshall set free,G1659V-AAS-3S ἐλεύθεροιeleutheroifreeG1658A-NPM ἔσεσθε.esestheyou will be.G1510V-FDI-2P 37 I know that you are Abraham's seed, but you seek to kill Me because My Word has no place in you.

Jesus answered them, If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham.
