קָדֵשׁ

1. apartness, sacredness, holiness, of God:
  a. of divine activity, synonym majesty, בַּקֹּדֶשׁ (of victory), Exod 15:11 (song) Ps 68:18; Ps 77:14 ׳זְרוֺעַ ק holy arm Isa 52:10; Ps 98:1.
  b. to attest his word as inviolable ׳נשׁבע בק Amos 4:2; Ps 89:36 compare ׳דִּבְרֵי ק Jer 23:9, ׳דְּבַר ק Ps 105:42.
  c. of his name as sacred, inviolable, separate from all defilement, etc.: שֵׁם קָדְשִׁי Lev 20:3; Lev 22:2; Lev 22:32 (P), Amos 2:7; 1Chr 16:10; 1Chr 16:35; 1Chr 29:16 + 9 t. Ezekiel; 5 t. Psalms; ׳זֵכֶר ק Ps 30:5 = Ps 97:12 and so

Hittite capital on the Orontes, north of Damascus, towards Hamath (Egyptian †dš, †dšu, †dše WMM^{As.u.Eur.213 ff.}); — 2Sam 24:6 ᵐ5^L We Dr Kit Bu Löhr, reading אֶרֶץ הַחִתִּים קָדֵ֫שָׁה for ᵑ0 תַּחְתִּים חָדְשִׁי ׳א (הַחִתִּים already Hi^{Geschichte. Israel i. 29}; קָדֵ֫שָׁה Th, קֶ֫דְשָׁה Klo, of קֶדֶשׁ in Naphtali); HPS doubts.
