Chapter 20
1 And it came about on one of those days, when he was teaching the people in the Temple and preaching the good news,

I will send my dearly loved son; they may give respect to him.

Now what will the lord do to these workmen?

And when he said this, they said, May it not be so.

πεσὼνpesōnfallingG4098V-2AAP-NSM ἐκεῖνονekeinonthat [very]G1565D-ASM λίθονlithonstoneG3037N-ASM συνθλασθήσεται·sunthlasthēsetaiwill be broken;G4917V-FPI-3S πέσῃ,pesēit may fall,G4098V-2AAS-3S λικμήσειlikmēseiit will grind into powderG3039V-FAI-3S αὐτόν.¶autonhim.G0846P-ASM 19 And the chief priests and the scribes made attempts to get their hands on him in that very hour; and they were in fear of the people, for they saw that he had made up this story against them.

Whose image and name are on it? And they said, Caesar's.

καταξιωθέντεςkataxiōthenteshaving been considered worthyG2661V-APP-NPM ἐκείνουekeinouthat [one]G1565D-GSM τυχεῖνtucheinto obtainG5177V-2AAN ἀναστάσεωςanastaseōsresurrectionG0386N-GSF νεκρῶνnekrōn[the] deadG3498A-GPM οὔτεouteneitherG3777CONJ-N γαμοῦσινgamousinmarryG1060V-PAI-3P γαμίζονται·gamizontaiare given in marriage;G1061V-PPI-3P 36 And death has no more power over them, for they are equal to the angels, and are sons of God, being of those who will come back from the dead.

οὐκέτιouketino longerG3756PRT-N + G2089 ἐτόλμωνetolmōnwere they daringG5111V-IAI-3P ἐπερωτᾶνeperōtanto askG1905V-PAN οὐδέν.¶oudenno [thing].G3762A-ASN 41 And he said to them, Why do they say that the Christ is the son of David?
