Chapter 23
1 And they all went and took him before Pilate.

And he said in answer, You say so.

παιδεύσαςpaideusasHaving chastisedG3811V-AAP-NSM ἀπολύσω.apolusōI will release [Him].G0630GV-FAI-1S 18 But with loud voices they said all together, Put this man to death, and make Barabbas free.

ἐπεφώνουνepephōnounthey were crying outG2019V-IAI-3P λέγοντες·legontessaying;G3004GV-PAP-NPM σταύρουstauroudo crucifyG4717V-PAM-2S σταύρουstauroudo crucifyG4717V-PAM-2S αὐτόν.¶autonHim.G0846P-ASM 22 And he said to them a third time, Why, what evil has he done? I see no reason for putting him to death: I will give him punishment and let him go.

And they had their way.

ἄρξονταιarxontaiThey will beginG0757V-FMI-3P ὄρεσιν·oresinmountains;G3735N-DPN πέσετεpesetedo fallG4098V-2AAM-2P βουνοῖς·bounoishills;G1015N-DPM καλύψατεkalupsatedo coverG2572V-AAM-2P 31 For if they do these things when the tree is green, what will they do when it is dry?
ταῦταtautathese thingsG3778D-APN ποιοῦσιν,poiousinthey do,G4160GV-PAI-3P γένηται;¶genētaimay happen?G1096V-2ADS-3S 32 And two others, evil-doers, were taken with him to be put to death.
ἬγοντοĒgontoWere being led awayG0071V-IPI-3P ἕτεροιheteroiotherG2087A-NPM κακοῦργοιkakourgoicriminalsG2557A-NPM ἀναιρεθῆναι.anairethēnaito be executed.G0337V-APN 33 And when they came to the place which is named Golgotha, they put him on the cross, and the evil-doers, one on the right side, and the other on the left.
ἦλθονēlthonthey cameG2064V-2AAI-3P τόπονtoponplaceG5117N-ASM καλούμενονkaloumenonis being calledG2564GV-PPP-ASM Κρανίον,Kranion[The] Skull,G2898N-ASN-L ἐσταύρωσανestaurōsanthey crucifiedG4717V-AAI-3P κακούργους,kakourgouscriminals,G2557A-APM δεξιῶν,dexiōnright,G1188A-GPN ἀριστερῶν.aristerōn[the] left.G0710A-GPN 34 And Jesus said, Father, let them have forgiveness, for they have no knowledge of what they are doing. And they made division of his clothing among them by the decision of chance.

And the rulers made sport of him, saying, He was a saviour of others; let him do something for himself, if he is the Christ, the man of God's selection.

ἐνέπαιξανenepaixanMockedG1702V-AAI-3P στρατιῶταιstratiōtaisoldiersG4757N-NPM προσερχόμενοι,proserchomenoicoming near,G4334V-PNP-NPM ὄξοςoxossour wineG3690N-ASN προσφέροντεςprospherontesofferingG4374V-PAP-NPM 37 And saying, If you are the King of the Jews, get yourself free.

Get yourself and us out of this.
