Chapter 23
1 And the whole multitude of them, rising up, led him to Pilate.

And he answering him said, Thou sayest.

I have found no cause of death in him: I will chastise him therefore and release him.

And their voices [and those of the chief priests] prevailed.

ταῦταtautathese thingsG3778D-APN ποιοῦσιν,poiousinthey do,G4160GV-PAI-3P γένηται;¶genētaimay happen?G1096V-2ADS-3S 32 Now two others also, malefactors, were led with him to be put to death.
ἬγοντοĒgontoWere being led awayG0071V-IPI-3P ἕτεροιheteroiotherG2087A-NPM κακοῦργοιkakourgoicriminalsG2557A-NPM ἀναιρεθῆναι.anairethēnaito be executed.G0337V-APN 33 And when they came to the place which is called Skull, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, the other on the left.

And, parting out his garments, they cast lots.

36 And the soldiers also made game of him, coming up offering him vinegar,
ἐνέπαιξανenepaixanMockedG1702V-AAI-3P στρατιῶταιstratiōtaisoldiersG4757N-NPM προσερχόμενοι,proserchomenoicoming near,G4334V-PNP-NPM ὄξοςoxossour wineG3690N-ASN προσφέροντεςprospherontesofferingG4374V-PAP-NPM 37 and saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.
