Chapter 18
1 And he spoke a parable unto them [to this end], that it behooves [us] always to pray and not faint,

Nevertheless when the Son of man comes, shall he find faith on the earth?

νηστεύωnēsteuōI fastG3522V-PAI-1S σαββάτου,sabbatouweek,G4521N-GSN ἀποδεκατῶapodekatōI titheG0586V-PAI-1S πάνταpantaall thingsG3956A-APN ὅσαhosaas much asG3745K-APN κτῶμαι.¶ktōmaiI gain.G2932V-PNI-1S 13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as [his] eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God, reconcile me, a sinner.

No one [is] good except one, [that is], God.

εἶπεν·eipenhe said;G2036V-2AAI-3S ταῦταtautaTheseG3778D-APN ἐφύλαξαephulaxaI keptG5442GV-AAI-1S νεότητοςneotētos[the] youthG3503N-GSF μου.¶mouof mine.G3165P-1GS 22 Now when Jesus heard this, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.

ἀκούσαςakousashaving heardG0191V-AAP-NSM ταῦταtautathese thingsG3778D-APN περίλυποςperiluposvery sorrowfulG4036A-NSM ἐγενήθη·egenēthēhe became;G1096V-2AOI-3S πλούσιοςplousiosrichG4145A-NSM σφόδρα.¶sphodraextremely.G4970ADV 24 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How difficultly shall those that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
ἸδὼνIdōnHaving seenG1492HV-2AAP-NSM ἸησοῦςIēsousJesusG2424GN-NSM-P περίλυπονperiluponsorrowfulG4036A-ASM γενόμενονgenomenonbecameG1096V-2ADP-ASM εἶπεν·eipensaying;G2036V-2AAI-3S δυσκόλωςduskolōsdifficultG1423ADV οἱhoi[for] thoseG3588T-NPM χρήματαchrēmatarichesG5536N-APN ἔχοντεςechonteshaving [when]G2192V-PAP-NPM βασιλείανbasileiankingdomG0932N-ASF θεοῦtheouof GodG2316N-GSM-T εἰσπορεύονται.eisporeuontaithey enter.G1531V-PNI-3P 25 For it is easier to put a cable through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
εὐκοπώτερονeukopōteronEasierG2123A-NSN-C ἐστινestinit isG1510V-PAI-3S κάμηλονkamēlona camelG2574N-ASF τρήματοςtrēmatosan eyeG6085N-GSN βελόνηςbelonēsof a needleG6011N-GSF εἰσελθεῖνeiseltheinto goG1525V-2AAN πλούσιονplousiona rich manG4145A-ASM βασιλείανbasileiankingdomG0932N-ASF θεοῦtheouof GodG2316N-GSM-T εἰσελθεῖν.¶eiseltheinto enter.G1525V-2AAN 26 And those that heard [it] said, Who then can be saved?
εἶπανeipanSaidG2036V-2AAI-3P ἀκούσαντες·akousanteshaving heard;G0191V-AAP-NPM δύναταιdunataiis ableG1410V-PNI-3S σωθῆναι;sōthēnaito be saved?G4982V-APN 27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
εἶπεν·eipenHe said;G2036V-2AAI-3S τὰtaThe [things]G3588T-NPN ἀδύναταadunataimpossibleG0102A-NPN ἀνθρώποιςanthrōpoismenG0444N-DPM δυνατὰdunatapossibleG1415A-NPN ἐστιν.¶estinare.G1510V-PAI-3S 28 Then Peter said, Behold, we have left all and followed thee.
ΕἶπενEipenSaidG2036V-2AAI-3S Πέτρος·PetrosPeter;G4074GN-NSM-P ἡμεῖςhēmeiswe ourselvesG3165P-1NP ἀφέντεςaphenteshaving abandonedG0863GV-2AAP-NPM ἴδιαidia[our] own [things]G2398A-APN ἠκολουθήσαμένēkolouthēsamenfollowedG0190V-AAI-1P 29 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no one that has left house or parents or brethren or wife or children for the kingdom of God's sake

οὐχὶouchicertainlyG3780PRT-N ἀπολάβῃapolabēmay receive backG0618V-2AAS-3S πολλαπλασίοναpollaplasionamanifold moreG4179A-APN τούτῳtoutōthis —G3778D-DSM ἐρχομένῳerchomenōis comingG2064V-PNP-DSM αἰώνιον.¶aiōnioneternal.G0166A-ASF 31 Then he took [unto him] the twelve and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.

παραδοθήσεταιparadothēsetaiHe will be betrayedG3860V-FPI-3S ἔθνεσινethnesinGentilesG1484N-DPN ἐμπαιχθήσεταιempaichthēsetaiwill be mockedG1702V-FPI-3S ὑβρισθήσεταιhubristhēsetaiwill be insultedG5195V-FPI-3S ἐμπτυσθήσεται,emptusthēsetaiwill be spit upon,G1716V-FPI-3S 33 and they shall scourge [him] and put him to death, but the third day he shall rise again.
μαστιγώσαντεςmastigōsanteshaving flogged [Him]G3146V-AAP-NPM ἀποκτενοῦσινapoktenousinthey will killG0615V-FAI-3P αὐτόν,autonHim,G0846P-ASM τρίτῃtritēthirdG5154A-DSF ἀναστήσεται.anastēsetaiHe will rise again.G0450V-FMI-3S 34 And they understood none of these things, and this word was hid from them, and they did not know what was said.

And he said, Lord, that I may see.
