Chapter 11
1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? By no means. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, [of] the tribe of Benjamin.

Know ye not what the scripture saith of Elijah? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,

I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal.

Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

By no means: but [rather] through their fall salvation [is come] to the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.

παραζηλώσωparazēlōsōI will provoke to jealousyG3863V-FAI-1S σάρκαsarkafleshG4561N-ASF σώσωsōsōwill saveG4982V-FAI-1S αὐτῶν.autōnthem.G0846P-GPM 15 For if the rejection of them [be] the reconciling of the world, what [shall] the receiving [of them be], but life from the dead?

But if thou boastest, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
κατακαυχῶkatakauchōdo boastG2620V-PNM-2S κλάδων·kladōnbranches;G2798N-GPM κατακαυχᾶσαι,katakauchasaiyou boast against [them],G2620V-PNI-2S σὺsuyou yourselfG4771P-2NS ῥίζανrhizanrootG4491N-ASF βαστάζειςbastazeissupportG0941V-PAI-2S 19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be ingrafted.
ἐρεῖςereisYou will sayG4483V-FAI-2S ἐξεκλάσθησανexeklasthēsanWere broken offG1575V-API-3P κλάδοιkladoibranchesG2798N-NPM ἐγκεντρισθῶ.egkentristhōmay be grafted in.G1461V-APS-1S 20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not high-minded, but fear:

κατὰkataaccording toG2596PREP φύσινphusinnatureG5449N-ASF κλάδωνkladōnbranchesG2798N-GPM ἐφείσατο,epheisatospared,G5339V-ADI-3S οὐδὲoudeneitherG3761CONJ-N φείσεται.¶pheisetaiwill He spare.G5339V-FDI-3S 22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them who fell, severity; but towards thee, goodness, if thou shalt continue in [his] goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

κἀκεῖνοιkakeinoiAnd theyG2532CONJ + G1565 ἐπιμένωσινepimenōsinthey shall continueG1961V-PAS-3P ἀπιστίᾳ,apistiain unbelief,G0570N-DSF ἐγκεντρισθήσονται·egkentristhēsontai[then] they will be grafted in;G1461V-FPI-3P δυνατὸςdunatosableG1415A-NSM ἐστινestinisG1510V-PAI-3S ἐγκεντρίσαιegkentrisaito graft inG1461V-AAN αὐτούς·autousthem;G0846P-APM 24 For if thou wast cut out of the olive-tree which is wild by nature, and wast ingrafted contrary to nature into a good olive-tree; how much more shall these, which are the natural [branches], be grafted into their own olive-tree?

ἀμεταμέληταametamelētaIrrevocableG0278A-NPN χαρίσματαcharismatagiftsG5486N-NPN κλῆσιςklēsiscallingG2821N-NSF θεοῦ.theouof God.G2316N-GSM-T 30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief;
ὥσπερhōsperJust asG5618CONJ ὑμεῖςhumeisyou yourselvesG4771P-2NP ἠπειθήσατεēpeithēsatewere disobedientG0544V-AAI-2P θεῷtheōto GodG2316N-DSM-T ἠλεήθητεēleēthētewere shown mercyG1653V-API-2P τούτωνtoutōnthrough theirG3778D-GPM ἀπειθείᾳ,apeitheiadisobedience,G0543N-DSF 31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
οὗτοιhoutoitheseG3778D-NPM ἠπείθησανēpeithēsanwere disobedientG0544V-AAI-3P ὑμετέρῳhumeterōto yourG4771A-DSN ἐλέειeleeimercyG1656N-DSN αὐτοὶautoithey themselvesG0846P-NPM ἐλεηθῶσιν.eleēthōsinmay have mercy shown [them].G1653V-APS-3P 32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
συνέκλεισενsunekleisenHas bound upG4788V-AAI-3S πάνταςpantasallG3956A-APM ἀπείθειανapeitheiandisobedienceG0543N-ASF πάνταςpantasallG3956A-APM ἐλεήσῃ.¶eleēsēHe may show mercy to.G1653V-AAS-3S 33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable [are] his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

προέδωκενproedōkenhas first givenG4272V-AAI-3S αὐτῷ,autōto Him,G0846P-DSM ἀνταποδοθήσεταιantapodothēsetaiit will be recompensedG0467V-FPI-3S αὐτῷ;autōto him?G0846P-DSM 36 For from him, and by him, and to him [are] all things: to whom [be] glory for ever. Amen.
