Chapter 11
1 So I say, Has God put his people on one side? Let there be no such thought. For I am of Israel, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

Or have you no knowledge of what is said about Elijah in the holy Writings? how he says words to God against Israel,

I have still seven thousand men whose knees have not been bent to Baal.

That which Israel was searching for he did not get, but those of the selection got it and the rest were made hard.

In no way: but by their fall salvation has come to the Gentiles, so that they might be moved to envy.

παραζηλώσωparazēlōsōI will provoke to jealousyG3863V-FAI-1S σάρκαsarkafleshG4561N-ASF σώσωsōsōwill saveG4982V-FAI-1S αὐτῶν.autōnthem.G0846P-GPM 15 For, if by their putting away, the rest of men have been made friends with God, what will their coming back again be, but life from the dead?

κατακαυχῶkatakauchōdo boastG2620V-PNM-2S κλάδων·kladōnbranches;G2798N-GPM κατακαυχᾶσαι,katakauchasaiyou boast against [them],G2620V-PNI-2S σὺsuyou yourselfG4771P-2NS ῥίζανrhizanrootG4491N-ASF βαστάζειςbastazeissupportG0941V-PAI-2S 19 You will say, Branches were broken off so that I might be put in.
ἐρεῖςereisYou will sayG4483V-FAI-2S ἐξεκλάσθησανexeklasthēsanWere broken offG1575V-API-3P κλάδοιkladoibranchesG2798N-NPM ἐγκεντρισθῶ.egkentristhōmay be grafted in.G1461V-APS-1S 20 Truly, because they had no faith they were broken off, and you have your place by reason of your faith. Do not be lifted up in pride, but have fear;

κατὰkataaccording toG2596PREP φύσινphusinnatureG5449N-ASF κλάδωνkladōnbranchesG2798N-GPM ἐφείσατο,epheisatospared,G5339V-ADI-3S οὐδὲoudeneitherG3761CONJ-N φείσεται.¶pheisetaiwill He spare.G5339V-FDI-3S 22 See then that God is good but his rules are fixed: to those who were put away he was hard, but to you he has been good, on the condition that you keep in his mercy; if not, you will be cut off as they were.

αὕτηhautēthis [is]G3778D-NSF αὐτοῖςautoisto themG0846P-DPM διαθήκη,diathēkēcovenant,G1242N-NSF ἀφέλωμαιaphelōmaiI may take awayG0851V-2AMS-1S ἁμαρτίαςhamartiassinsG0266N-APF αὐτῶν.autōnof them.G0846P-GPM 28 As far as the good news is in question, they are cut off from God on account of you, but as far as the selection is in question, they are loved on account of the fathers.
κατὰkataAs regardsG2596PREP εὐαγγέλιονeuangeliongospelG2098N-ASN ἐχθροὶechthroi[they are] enemiesG2190N-NPM δι᾽di᾽on account ofG1223PREP κατὰkataAs regardsG2596PREP ἐκλογὴνeklogēnelectionG1589N-ASF ἀγαπητοὶagapētoibelovedG0027A-NPM διὰdiaon account ofG1223PREP πατέρας·pateraspatriarchs;G3962N-APM 29 Because God's selection and his mercies may not be changed.
ἀμεταμέληταametamelētaIrrevocableG0278A-NPN χαρίσματαcharismatagiftsG5486N-NPN κλῆσιςklēsiscallingG2821N-NSF θεοῦ.theouof God.G2316N-GSM-T 30 For as you, in time past, were not under the rule of God, but now have got mercy through their turning away,
ὥσπερhōsperJust asG5618CONJ ὑμεῖςhumeisyou yourselvesG4771P-2NP ἠπειθήσατεēpeithēsatewere disobedientG0544V-AAI-2P θεῷtheōto GodG2316N-DSM-T ἠλεήθητεēleēthētewere shown mercyG1653V-API-2P τούτωνtoutōnthrough theirG3778D-GPM ἀπειθείᾳ,apeitheiadisobedience,G0543N-DSF 31 So in the same way these have gone against the orders of God, so that by the mercy given to you they may now get mercy.
οὗτοιhoutoitheseG3778D-NPM ἠπείθησανēpeithēsanwere disobedientG0544V-AAI-3P ὑμετέρῳhumeterōto yourG4771A-DSN ἐλέειeleeimercyG1656N-DSN αὐτοὶautoithey themselvesG0846P-NPM ἐλεηθῶσιν.eleēthōsinmay have mercy shown [them].G1653V-APS-3P 32 For God has let them all go against his orders, so that he might have mercy on them all.
συνέκλεισενsunekleisenHas bound upG4788V-AAI-3S πάνταςpantasallG3956A-APM ἀπείθειανapeitheiandisobedienceG0543N-ASF πάνταςpantasallG3956A-APM ἐλεήσῃ.¶eleēsēHe may show mercy to.G1653V-AAS-3S 33 O how deep is the wealth of the wisdom and knowledge of God! no one is able to make discovery of his decisions, and his ways may not be searched out.

ἔγνωegnōhas knownG1097V-2AAI-3S νοῦνnoun[the] mindG3563N-ASM κυρίου;kuriouof [the] Lord?G2962GN-GSM-T σύμβουλοςsumbouloscounselorG4825N-NSM αὐτοῦautouof HimG0846P-GSM ἐγένετο;egenetohas been?G1096V-2ADI-3S 35 Or who has first given to him, and it will be given back to him again?
προέδωκενproedōkenhas first givenG4272V-AAI-3S αὐτῷ,autōto Him,G0846P-DSM ἀνταποδοθήσεταιantapodothēsetaiit will be recompensedG0467V-FPI-3S αὐτῷ;autōto him?G0846P-DSM 36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things. To him be the glory for ever. So be it.
