Chapter 11
1 I say, then, Did God cast away His people? let it not be! for I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin:

What Israel doth seek after, this it did not obtain, and the chosen did obtain, and the rest were hardened,

παραζηλώσωparazēlōsōI will provoke to jealousyG3863V-FAI-1S σάρκαsarkafleshG4561N-ASF σώσωsōsōwill saveG4982V-FAI-1S αὐτῶν.autōnthem.G0846P-GPM 15 for if the casting away of them is a reconciliation of the world, what the reception--if not life out of the dead?

ἀπαρχὴaparchēfirstfruitG0536N-NSF ἁγία,hagia[is] holy,G0040GA-NSF φύραμα·phuramalump;G5445N-NSN ἁγία,hagia[is] holy,G0040GA-NSF κλάδοι.kladoibranches.G2798N-NPM 17 And if certain of the branches were broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wast graffed in among them, and a fellow-partaker of the root and of the fatness of the olive tree didst become--

κατακαυχῶkatakauchōdo boastG2620V-PNM-2S κλάδων·kladōnbranches;G2798N-GPM κατακαυχᾶσαι,katakauchasaiyou boast against [them],G2620V-PNI-2S σὺsuyou yourselfG4771P-2NS ῥίζανrhizanrootG4491N-ASF βαστάζειςbastazeissupportG0941V-PAI-2S 19 Thou wilt say, then, `The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in;' right!
ἐρεῖςereisYou will sayG4483V-FAI-2S ἐξεκλάσθησανexeklasthēsanWere broken offG1575V-API-3P κλάδοιkladoibranchesG2798N-NPM ἐγκεντρισθῶ.egkentristhōmay be grafted in.G1461V-APS-1S 20 by unbelief they were broken off, and thou hast stood by faith; be not high-minded, but be fearing;
καλῶς·kalōsRightly so;G2573ADV ἀπιστίᾳapistiaunbeliefG0570N-DSF ἐξεκλάσθησαν,exeklasthēsanthey were broken off,G1575V-API-3P σὺsuyou yourselfG4771P-2NS πίστειpisteiby faithG4102GN-DSF ἕστηκας.hestēkashave stood.G2476V-RAI-2S ὑψηλὰhupsēlahighG5308A-APN φρόνειphroneido be mindedG5426V-PAM-2S φοβοῦ·phoboudo be afraid;G5399V-PNM-2S 21 for if God the natural branches did not spare--lest perhaps He also shall not spare thee.
κατὰkataaccording toG2596PREP φύσινphusinnatureG5449N-ASF κλάδωνkladōnbranchesG2798N-GPM ἐφείσατο,epheisatospared,G5339V-ADI-3S οὐδὲoudeneitherG3761CONJ-N φείσεται.¶pheisetaiwill He spare.G5339V-FDI-3S 22 Lo, then, goodness and severity of God--upon those indeed who fell, severity; and upon thee, goodness, if thou mayest remain in the goodness, otherwise, thou also shalt be cut off.

κἀκεῖνοιkakeinoiAnd theyG2532CONJ + G1565 ἐπιμένωσινepimenōsinthey shall continueG1961V-PAS-3P ἀπιστίᾳ,apistiain unbelief,G0570N-DSF ἐγκεντρισθήσονται·egkentristhēsontai[then] they will be grafted in;G1461V-FPI-3P δυνατὸςdunatosableG1415A-NSM ἐστινestinisG1510V-PAI-3S ἐγκεντρίσαιegkentrisaito graft inG1461V-AAN αὐτούς·autousthem;G0846P-APM 24 for if thou, out of the olive tree, wild by nature, wast cut out, and, contrary to nature, wast graffed into a good olive tree, how much rather shall they, who are according to nature, be graffed into their own olive tree?

αὕτηhautēthis [is]G3778D-NSF αὐτοῖςautoisto themG0846P-DPM διαθήκη,diathēkēcovenant,G1242N-NSF ἀφέλωμαιaphelōmaiI may take awayG0851V-2AMS-1S ἁμαρτίαςhamartiassinsG0266N-APF αὐτῶν.autōnof them.G0846P-GPM 28 As regards, indeed, the good tidings, they are enemies on your account; and as regards the choice--beloved on account of the fathers;
κατὰkataAs regardsG2596PREP εὐαγγέλιονeuangeliongospelG2098N-ASN ἐχθροὶechthroi[they are] enemiesG2190N-NPM δι᾽di᾽on account ofG1223PREP κατὰkataAs regardsG2596PREP ἐκλογὴνeklogēnelectionG1589N-ASF ἀγαπητοὶagapētoibelovedG0027A-NPM διὰdiaon account ofG1223PREP πατέρας·pateraspatriarchs;G3962N-APM 29 for unrepented of are the gifts and the calling of God;
ἀμεταμέληταametamelētaIrrevocableG0278A-NPN χαρίσματαcharismatagiftsG5486N-NPN κλῆσιςklēsiscallingG2821N-NSF θεοῦ.theouof God.G2316N-GSM-T 30 for as ye also once did not believe in God, and now did find kindness by the unbelief of these:
ὥσπερhōsperJust asG5618CONJ ὑμεῖςhumeisyou yourselvesG4771P-2NP ἠπειθήσατεēpeithēsatewere disobedientG0544V-AAI-2P θεῷtheōto GodG2316N-DSM-T ἠλεήθητεēleēthētewere shown mercyG1653V-API-2P τούτωνtoutōnthrough theirG3778D-GPM ἀπειθείᾳ,apeitheiadisobedience,G0543N-DSF 31 so also these now did not believe, that in your kindness they also may find kindness;
οὗτοιhoutoitheseG3778D-NPM ἠπείθησανēpeithēsanwere disobedientG0544V-AAI-3P ὑμετέρῳhumeterōto yourG4771A-DSN ἐλέειeleeimercyG1656N-DSN αὐτοὶautoithey themselvesG0846P-NPM ἐλεηθῶσιν.eleēthōsinmay have mercy shown [them].G1653V-APS-3P 32 for God did shut up together the whole to unbelief, that to the whole He might do kindness.
συνέκλεισενsunekleisenHas bound upG4788V-AAI-3S πάνταςpantasallG3956A-APM ἀπείθειανapeitheiandisobedienceG0543N-ASF πάνταςpantasallG3956A-APM ἐλεήσῃ.¶eleēsēHe may show mercy to.G1653V-AAS-3S 33 O depth of riches, and wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable His judgments, and untraceable His ways!

ἔγνωegnōhas knownG1097V-2AAI-3S νοῦνnoun[the] mindG3563N-ASM κυρίου;kuriouof [the] Lord?G2962GN-GSM-T σύμβουλοςsumbouloscounselorG4825N-NSM αὐτοῦautouof HimG0846P-GSM ἐγένετο;egenetohas been?G1096V-2ADI-3S 35 or who did first give to Him, and it shall be given back to him again?
προέδωκενproedōkenhas first givenG4272V-AAI-3S αὐτῷ,autōto Him,G0846P-DSM ἀνταποδοθήσεταιantapodothēsetaiit will be recompensedG0467V-FPI-3S αὐτῷ;autōto him?G0846P-DSM 36 because of Him, and through Him, and to Him are the all things; to Him is the glory--to the ages. Amen.
