Chapter 14
1 And it came to pass, on his going into the house of a certain one of the chiefs of the Pharisees, on a sabbath, to eat bread, that they were watching him,

ἡσύχασαν.hēsuchasanthey were silent.G2270V-AAI-3P ἐπιλαβόμενοςepilabomenoshaving taken hold [of him]G1949V-2ADP-NSM ἰάσατοiasatoHe healedG2390V-ADI-3S ἀπέλυσεν.¶apelusenlet [him] go.G0630GV-AAI-3S 5 and answering them he said, `Of which of you shall an ass or ox fall into a pit, and he will not immediately draw it up on the sabbath-day?'

ἴσχυσανischusanthey were ableG2480V-AAI-3P ἀνταποκριθῆναιantapokrithēnaito replyG0470V-AON ταῦτα.¶tautathese things.G3778D-APN 7 And he spake a simile unto those called, marking how they were choosing out the first couches, saying unto them,

ΚαλὸνKalonGood [is]G2570GA-NSN ἅλας·halassalt;G0217N-NSN μωρανθῇ,mōranthēashall become tasteless,G3471V-APS-3S ἀρτυθήσεται;artuthēsetaiwill it be seasoned?G0741V-FPI-3S 35 neither for land nor for manure is it fit--they cast it without. He who is having ears to hear--let him hear.'
