Chapter 22
1 And Jesus answering, again spake to them in similes, saying,

ὡμοιώθηhōmoiōthēHas become likeG3666V-API-3S βασιλείαbasileiakingdomG0932N-NSF οὐρανῶνouranōnheavensG3772N-GPM ἀνθρώπῳanthrōpōto a manG0444N-DSM βασιλεῖbasileia kingG0935N-DSM ἐποίησενepoiēsenmadeG4160GV-AAI-3S γάμουςgamousa wedding feastG1062N-APM αὐτοῦ.autouof him.G0846P-GSM 3 and he sent forth his servants to call those having been called to the marriage-feasts, and they were not willing to come.

ἀπέστειλενapesteilenhe sentG0649V-AAI-3S ἄλλουςallousotherG0243A-APM δούλουςdoulousservantsG1401N-APM λέγων·legōnsaying;G3004GV-PAP-NSM εἴπατεeipatedo sayG2036V-2AAM-2P τοῖςtoisto thoseG3588T-DPM κεκλημένοις·keklēmenoisinvited;G2564GV-RPP-DPM ἄριστόνaristondinnerG0712N-ASN ἡτοίμακα,hētoimakaI have prepared,G2090V-RAI-1S ταῦροίtauroioxenG5022N-NPM σιτιστὰsitistafatlingsG4619A-NPN τεθυμένα,tethumenakilled,G2380V-RPP-NPN πάνταpantaall things [are]G3956A-NPN ἕτοιμα·hetoimaready;G2092A-NPN γάμους.gamouswedding feast.G1062N-APM 5 and they, having disregarded it , went away, the one to his own field, and the other to his merchandise;
ἀμελήσαντεςamelēsanteshaving paid no attentionG0272V-AAP-NPM ἀπῆλθον,apēlthonthey went away,G0565V-2AAI-3P ὃςhosthat [one]G3739R-NSM ἴδιονidion[his] ownG2398A-ASM ὃςhosthat [one]G3739R-NSM ἐμπορίανemporianbusinessG1711N-ASF αὐτοῦ·autouof him;G0846P-GSM 6 and the rest, having laid hold on his servants, did insult and slay them .
λοιποὶloipoithe restG3062A-NPM κρατήσαντεςkratēsanteshaving laid hold ofG2902V-AAP-NPM δούλουςdoulousservantsG1401N-APM αὐτοῦautouof himG0846P-GSM ὕβρισανhubrisanmistreatedG5195V-AAI-3P ἀπέκτειναν.apekteinankilled [them].G0615V-AAI-3P 7 `And the king having heard, was wroth, and having sent forth his soldiers, he destroyed those murderers, and their city he set on fire;

πορεύεσθεporeuesthedo goG4198V-PNM-2P διεξόδουςdiexodousthoroughfaresG1327N-APF ὁδῶν,hodōnhighways,G3598N-GPF ὅσουςhosousas many asG3745K-APM εὕρητε,heurēteyou shall find,G2147V-2AAS-2P καλέσατεkalesatedo inviteG2564GV-AAM-2P γάμους.gamouswedding feast.G1062N-APM 10 `And those servants, having gone forth to the ways, did gather all, as many as they found, both bad and good, and the marriage-feast apartment was filled with those reclining.

πολλοὶpolloiManyG4183A-NPM εἰσινeisinareG1510V-PAI-3P κλητοί,klētoicalled,G2822A-NPM ὀλίγοιoligoifewG3641A-NPM ἐκλεκτοί.¶eklektoichosen.G1588A-NPM 15 Then the Pharisees having gone, took counsel how they might ensnare him in words,

ἐπιδείξατέepideixatedo showG1925V-AAM-2P νόμισμαnomismacoinG3546N-ASN κήνσου.kēnsoutribute.G2778N-GSM προσήνεγκανprosēnegkanthey presentedG4374V-AAI-3P δηνάριον.dēnariona denarius.G1220N-ASN 20 and he saith to them, `Whose is this image and the inscription?'

ἀκούσαντεςakousanteshaving heardG0191V-AAP-NPM ἐθαύμασαν,ethaumasanthey marveled,G2296V-AAI-3P ἀφέντεςaphenteshaving leftG0863GV-2AAP-NPM ἀπῆλθαν.¶apēlthanthey went away.G0565V-2AAI-3P 23 In that day there came near to him Sadducees, who are saying there is not a rising again, and they questioned him, saying,

ὕστερονhusteronFinallyG5306A-ASN-C πάντωνpantōnof allG3956A-GPN ἀπέθανενapethanendiedG0599V-2AAI-3S 28 therefore in the rising again, of which of the seven shall she be wife--for all had her?'

ἈποκριθεὶςApokritheisAnsweringG0611V-AOP-NSM ἸησοῦςIēsousJesusG2424GN-NSM-P εἶπενeipensaidG2036V-2AAI-3S αὐτοῖς·autoisto them;G0846P-DPM πλανᾶσθεplanastheYou errG4105V-PPI-2P εἰδότεςeidotesknowingG6063V-RAP-NPM γραφὰςgraphasScripturesG1124N-APF δύναμινdunaminpowerG1411N-ASF θεοῦ.theouof God.G2316N-GSM-T 30 for in the rising again they do not marry, nor are they given in marriage, but are as messengers of God in heaven.

God is not a God of dead men, but of living.'
ἈβραὰμAbraamof AbrahamG0011N-GSM-P ἸσαὰκIsaakof IsaacG2464N-GSM-P Ἰακώβ;Iakōbof Jacob?’G2384HN-GSM-P ἔστινestinHe isG1510V-PAI-3S νεκρῶνnekrōnof [the] deadG3498A-GPM ζώντων.¶zōntōnof [the] living.G2198V-PAP-GPM 33 And having heard, the multitudes were astonished at his teaching;

ἐπηρώτησενepērōtēsenquestioned [Him]G1905V-AAI-3S νομικὸςnomikosa lawyerG3544A-NSM πειράζωνpeirazōntestingG3985HV-PAP-NSM λέγων·legōnsaying:G3004GV-PAP-NSM 36 `Teacher, which is the great command in the Law?'
διδάσκαλε,didaskaleTeacher,G1320N-VSM-T ἐντολὴentolēcommandmentG1785N-NSF μεγάληmegalē[is the] greatestG3173A-NSF 37 And Jesus said to him, `Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thine understanding--
ἸησοῦςIēsousJesusG2424GN-NSM-P ἔφηephēwas sayingG5346V-IAI-3S αὐτῷ·autōto him;G0846P-DSM ἀγαπήσειςagapēseisYou will loveG0025V-FAI-2S κύριονkurion[the] LordG2962GN-ASM-T καρδίᾳkardiaheartG2588N-DSF διανοίᾳdianoiamindG1271N-DSF σου.souof you.’G4771P-2GS 38 this is a first and great command;
ἐστὶνestinisG1510V-PAI-3S μεγάληmegalēgreatG3173A-NSF ἐντολή.entolēcommandment.G1785N-NSF 39 and the second is like to it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself;
δευτέραdeutera[The] secondG1208A-NSF ὁμοίαhomoia[is] likeG3664A-NSF αὐτῇ·autēato it:G0846P-DSF ἀγαπήσειςagapēseisYou will loveG0025V-FAI-2S πλησίονplēsionneighbourG4139ADV σεαυτόν.seautonyourself.’G4771F-2ASM 40 on these--the two commands--all the law and the prophets do hang.'
ταύταιςtautaistheseG3778D-DPF ἐντολαῖςentolaiscommandmentsG1785N-DPF κρέματαιkremataihangsG2910V-PPI-3S προφῆται.¶prophētaiProphets.G4396N-NPM 41 And the Pharisees having been gathered together, Jesus did question them,
ΣυνηγμένωνSunēgmenōnWhen were assembledG4863V-RPP-GPM ΦαρισαίωνPharisaiōnPhariseesG5330N-GPM-T ἐπηρώτησενepērōtēsenquestionedG1905V-AAI-3S αὐτοὺςautousthemG0846P-APM ἸησοῦςIēsousJesusG2424GN-NSM-P 42 saying, `What do ye think concerning the Christ? of whom is he son?' They say to him, `Of David.'

εἶπενeipenSaidG2036V-2AAI-3S κάθουkathoudo sitG2521V-PNM-2S δεξιῶνdexiōn[the] right handG1188A-GPN θῶthōI may placeG5087V-2AAS-1S ἐχθρούςechthrousenemiesG2190N-APM ὑποκάτωhupokatō[as] a footstoolG5270PREP 45 If then David doth call him lord, how is he his son?'
ΔαυὶδDauidDavidG1138N-NSM-P κύριον,kurionLord,G2962GN-ASM-T αὐτοῦautouof himG0846P-GSM ἐστιν;estinis He?G1510V-PAI-3S 46 And no one was able to answer him a word, nor durst any from that day question him any more.
